Happy Love Day

Valentines Day.

The day of love. Gotta hand it to hallmark for creating this holiday.. genius right?

I’ll have you know, I payed Hallmark a visit yesterday with the intention of buying ONE card.

Well guess what? I walked out with one card yes. In addition to Valentines stickers, confetti, a heart picture frame, stuffed bear, and a mug.

Something about that store sucks me in and the “I’m going all out this year” mantra takes over.

Apparently I was feeling it this year guys…

Growing up, my mom always went ALL out for holidays. Be it Christmas day or St. Patricks day, she reconginzed the day and never failed to make it special for my sister and I. Looking back on my childhood, I remember perfectly stuffed Easter baskets and glitzy wrap jobs on presents (clearly it’s not whats inside that matters, cause I couldn’t tell you what the gift was). I remember pumpkin pins my mom would wear on her nurses jacket, Christmas light earrings, and snowman pjs all around. Still to this day, my mom feels it you guys. Even this past Christmas when I was feeling completely bah humbug, I had my mom at my house setting up my Christmas tree and decking the halls. LOVE LOVE LOVE you sweet momma of mine.

My goal as a mom is to pay that forward and create this festive visual for Landyn. You may not catch me wearing pumpkin pins on my coat, but I definitely want to give her something to hold onto. I want to give her memories, tradition, warmth, love. We are writing our childrens stories my friends.

dress: Dashing Bee, cardigan: Nordstroms, shoes: Payless, headband: Aidies Hideaway, tights: Target

I’m off to celebrate my two Valentines. Have a great day!
